Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez awarded Iran’s highest honor, urges world to defeat U.S. By NASSER KARIMI (AP)

TEHRAN – Iran awarded Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez its highest state medal on Sunday for supporting Tehran in its nuclear standoff with the international community, while Chavez urged the world to rise up and defeat the U.S., state-run media in both countries reported. “Let’s save the human race, let’s finish off the U.S. empire,” Chavez said. “This (task) must be assumed with strength by the majority of the peoples of the world.” For the complete story please visit WNTV, Channel 13, Albany, NY

And, at NewsMax, Chavez and Ahmadinejad pledge loyalty to each other.

The presidents of Iran and Venezuela, leading U.S. critics, pledged Saturday to support one another in disputes with Washington, with the Iranian calling Hugo Chavez “a brother and trench mate.” For the rest of the story, please visit NewsMax.com

And at Forbes,

TEHRAN (AFX) – Venezuelan Energy Minister Rafael Ramirez on Sunday repeated a threat to halt oil exports to the US if Washington continues its ‘hostile policies’ towards Caracas.

‘Our policy is transparent. If the US wants to carry out hostile policies against us, we stop oil exports to this country,’ Ramirez was quoted as saying by the official Iranian news agency IRNA after a meeting with his Iranian counterpart in Tehran….For the rest of the Forbes stoy please go to Forbes.com

The two nations are members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries — Iran is the world’s No. 2 oil exporter and Venezuela No. 5.  It seems that it is going to get much worst before it gets better.  America has to become energy independent, as soon as possible.  This blogger would not be happy if he woke up in the morning to learn that Iran and Venezuela started holding the world economy hostage for the sake of destroying the United States.
