Navy Medic accepts plea bargain in Hamdania incident

According to Reuters, at 7:34 pm information was released that the Navy medic who served with six Marines accused of killing an Iraqi man in the town of Hamdania accepted a plea bargain.  Apparently prosecutors agreed to take the death penalty off the table for his testimony.

(Reuters) – A U.S. Navy medic charged in the murder of an Iraqi man in the town of Hamdania will plead guilty to lesser charges in return for testifying about his own role and that of seven Marines in the killing, his lawyer said on Thursday.

    What the…? The other guys are claiming innocence. I have a tendency to believe them. Could this be because they frightened him? Hmm…
