Elvira Arellano’s road trip ends in apprehension

‘… fix this broken law and uphold the principals of human dignity’

By Linda Bentley, Reporter, Sonoran News

LOS ANGELES – After seeking sanctuary in the Aldalberto United Methodist Church in Chicago, where she has lived for the past year to avoid deportation, Elvira Arellano decided to hold a press conference last Thursday, announcing she would be going to Washington, D.C. on Sept. 12 to lobby Congress to reform our country’s immigration laws.

After living in the United States illegally for a decade, Arellano still does not speak English and requires an interpreter. However, this time she read, with great difficulty, a speech prepared for her in English.

Peppered with repeated references to her “American citizen son,” Arellano read, “If this government would separate me from my son, let them do it in front of the men and women who have the responsibility to fix this broken law and uphold the principles of human dignity.” According to the Merriam- Webster Dictionary, dignity is defined as “the quality or state of being worthy, honored, or esteemed.” Arellano, 32, is hardly the portrait of dignity.

Shortly after entering the country illegally in 1997 using someone else’s identification, Arellano was deported.

However, she returned almost immediately, working at various jobs in Washington State, later moving to Chicago, using the names Gloria Trevino and Donna Miranda-Baretto and a social security number issued in Wisconsin to Margaret Benez, born May 6, 1920 and who died Sept. 15, 1995.

That was how Arellano was able to gain access to the secure area of O’Hare International Airport where she worked cleaning airplane cabins.

That was also what got her arrested and deported after immigration agents did a sweep at O’Hare in 2001.

In addition to entering the country illegally, engaging in identity fraud, Arellano gave birth to an illegitimate son, Saul, now eight, who would not be an American citizen, had Arellano not reentered the country illegally after being deported.

With a glowing eight-page pre-sentencing report, stating deportation would be punishment enough, Arellano was charged with a single misdemeanor for fraudulently presenting a social security card that was not issued by the Social Security Administration and was sentenced to three years probation, which prohibited Arellano from remaining in or reentering the United States after being deported.

Arellano lost the appeal of her deportation order, but instead of surrendering to be deported, Arellano decided to hole up in Rev. Walter “Slim” Coleman’s church.

During Thursday’s press conference, Arellano, reading from her prepared statement, said, “Families should not be separated. I understand fear because I fear being torn from the arms of my son.” Arellano made the decision to become a fugitive.

Apparently Arellano had other plans she did not announce during the press conference.

After the press conference, Michelle Dallacroce, founder of Mothers Against Illegal Aliens, learned Arellano was headed to Los Angeles, accompanied by Coleman and others, where they were to join Coleman’s wife, Emma Lozano, an open borders activist for Latin American illegal aliens and one of Arellano’s closest friends.

On Friday, Aug. 18, Dallacroce called the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in Los Angeles and spoke to Agent Bison, advising him of Arellano’s status as a fugitive and that she was on her way to Los Angeles.

While Arellano’s every move has been covered by the Chicago Tribune, including sending a reporter to Arellano’s home village of San Miguel Cunahuango, Michoacán, Mexico, earlier this year, Dallacroce said no one from the Chicago ICE office contacted ICE in Los Angeles to advise them of fugitive alien Arellano’s road trip.

The Tribune’s Online edition released breaking news on Saturday announcing Arellano’s arrival at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in Los Angeles and said she was expected to speak during an illegal alien rights march later that afternoon.

Dallacroce provided Bison with all the details available at the time.

On Sunday afternoon, immediately after Arellano and her entourage got into a van to leave Our Lady Queen of Angels Church to head north to San Jose, where Arellano had another speaking engagement scheduled, an unmarked vehicle pulled up to block them.

As the driver, Roberto Lopez, looked out the window to see why they were being blocked, they were soon surrounded by several more unmarked vehicles.

Agents got out and yelled for Arellano to get out of the van. Arellano asked to spend a moment with her son, and then surrendered without incident.

As of Monday, no charges have been brought against Coleman, Lozano or Lopez for aiding, harboring or transporting a fugitive alien.

Saul will remain in the United States with Lozano, which Arellano reportedly expressed was her wish if she was deported.

Again, it is Arellano who made the decision to be separated from her son.

Dallacroce said she planned to go to Washington, D.C. next month and make a citizens’ arrest had Arellano not been apprehended.

Over the past two years, Dallacroce has been lobbying to get Congress to clarify the “under the jurisdiction” clause of the 14th Amendment, which she says is being purposely misinterpreted in order to grant citizenship to the children of lawbreaking foreign invaders.

She believes these “jackpot” babies, raised by foreigners, speaking foreign languages, with no allegiance to this country, will eventually negate the votes of American children.

Dallacroce says Arellano’s sense of entitlement, based solely upon having given birth to an illegitimate son, after committing identity fraud and reentering the country illegally after being deported, emphasizes just how preposterous it is to grant citizenship to the children of foreign criminals, as she implores Congress to clarify the misinterpretation of the 14th Amendment for the sake of her own and all American children.

That’s the broken law Dallacroce says needs fixing.

Freedom of Religion Watch: House sends religious expression bill to governor

It is rather deplorable that this was needed. One would have hoped that the First Amendment alone would have sufficed:

“Texas students would have greater freedom to express their religious views on school campuses under a bill passed Saturday by the House and sent to Gov. Rick Perry, who has publicly supported the measure.

Under the legislation, religious beliefs expressed in homework, artwork and other assignments would be judged by traditional academic standards. Students couldn’t be penalized or rewarded because of the religious content of their work.

Supporters say the bill is needed to protect students from censorship and school districts from lawsuits. But opponents argue it will lead to religious discrimination among students. “We are allowing our young people to express their faith, whatever that faith is,” said Rep. Larry Phillips, a Sherman Republican.

At an April news conference, Perry was surrounded by children and parents who said their religious speech was quashed at public school. Supporters of the bill have cited examples of students being prohibited from wishing troops overseas a “Merry Christmas” or told they couldn’t distribute religious bracelets at recess.

No doubt the ACLU will be mounting a court challenge the minute the bill is signed.

Brokeback Mountain shown at Elementary School

Posted by thebosun on May 13, 2007

A suit was filed on behalf of a 12-year-old girl who claims she suffered psychological distress when a teacher showed in class the gay-themed movie “Brokeback Mountain.

“The girl and her grandparents are seeking more than $400,000 in damages under the suit filed Friday against the Chicago Board of Education, et al.  In her lawsuit, a 12-year-old girl claims she suffered psychological distress after watching “Brokeback Mountain.”

A substitute teacher introduced herself and then said, “What happens in class stays in class,” the suit claims. The sub then had a student close the door, and started showing the controversial R-rated film, which features two men engaged in sex.

The suit alleges that the principal was aware that the tale of the love between two cowboys set in the West of the 1960s was being shown to the minors.

Ramos and Compean Update

RAMOS AND COMPEAN UPDATE

February 12th, 2007

laprotest2.jpg
THE CONDITION OF IGNACIO “NACHO” RAMOS: Last Friday, Congressman Tancredo of Colorado got the opportunity to spend about an hour with wrongfully-convicted Border Patrol agent Ignacio Ramos at the Yazoo Federal Prison. He had been severely beaten, with deep bruises along his arm, gashes and bruises on his chest and back, and bruises on his knees. It has been reported that Ramos did not get medical attention until today. Tancredo mentioned that he was “astonished” at the condition of Ignacio. We will have Tom Tancredo on our show this week to give us an update… He has been the only visitor allowed since the beating.

THE SATURDAY RAMOS/COMPEAN LOS ANGELES RALLY: (This is going to make you sick.) The illegal immigration dolts such as ANSWER and the Party for Socialism and Liberation (liberation from WHAT??) came to this pro-Border Agent rally by the droves. The ANSWER Coalition showed up to call all sane individuals Nazis and screamed choice sayings such as, “You are white; you are a racist!” ANSWER’s tools of trade included the amplified bullhorns and signs equating Minutemen to the Ku Klux Klan. A counterprotester felt no need for cumbersome signs and simply feigned masturbation at the flag-waving crowd; another masked guy in camouflage waved a hole-pocked American flag upside-down, with “God less Amerikkka/This flag kills” scrawled across what remained of the stripes. “BURN THAT STUPID FLAG!” Urged one of the radical, pro-crime nuts. Many clad in “Brown Power” shirts, these morons called the Minutemen, Border Patrol agents, and families of Ramos and Compean racist pigs, Nazis, and other racial slurs.

THE PARDON OR EXONERATION: el Presidente Bush is STILL hiding behind the Snow-Man…

SMUGGLER AND DRUG CARTEL COULD’VE BEEN BUSTED: The drug smuggler left behind his cell phone, but there appears to be no evidence investigators made any attempt to identify him. Aldrete-Davila (the smuggler) stated that he had nothing in his hands as he ran toward the international border. He advised there had been a cell phone in the van, but stated it was left behind. If Sutton had just focused on finding the smuggler through the family connections and the cell phone, he could have landed a major drug bust that would have blown open a drug cartel in Mexico. Instead, Sutton chose to give Aldrete-Davila a free pass on all his drug activities.

SUTTON STILL IN DENIAL: Johnny Sutton claimed he didn’t have any way to link Aldrete-Davila to the 743 pounds of marijuana found in the van, except by the smuggler’s own testimony. “Now, if I could prove up the case another way, without using the words of Aldrete-Davila himself, we could prosecute the case. If I had a provable case that Aldrete-Davila had committed other crimes, I could prosecute him.” Sutton has stated that they had no evidence against the drug smuggler. A DHS memorandum documents that agent Rene Sanchez “queried the Border Patrol Tracking System and found that the Fabens Border Patrol Station seized a load of marijuana on February 17, 2005.”

HOMELAND SECURITY ADMITS LIES- BORDER PATROL AGENT’S LIVES IN JEOPARDY
Posted at Rick Roberts’ KFMB, San Diego, February 7th, 2007

nachoandmonica.jpg

-THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY HAS PROVEN THEMSELVES LIARS IN THE RAMOS AND COMPEAN CASE-

The Department of Homeland Security has ADMITTED that the agency misled Congress and the media when it contended it possessed investigative reports proving Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean confessed guilt and declared they “wanted to shoot some Mexicans” prior to the incident that led to their imprisonment.

You can bet your bottom dollar that the falsehoods being conveyed by US Attorney Johnny Sutton and his ilk will NOT be investigated, and barely reported on… IF AT ALL!

What about the “they did commit a crime by not filing a repot, thus they tried to hide it” heresay? As per Sarah Carter of The Daily Bulletin…

Written reports can only be made by investigators: U.S. Border Patrol firearms policy specifically states that agents are prohibited from filing a report if a shooting incident takes place and that only an oral report to supervisors is required. The policy states:

“Ensure that supervisory personnel or INS investigating officers are aware that employees involved in a shooting incident shall not be required or allowed to submit a written statement of the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

A Border Patrol Union representative said that the report filed by Compean and Ramos on the day of the incident was 100% ACCURATE.

The representative said…

“Our own policy prohibits them from filing any report on the shooting incident. The U.S. Attorney’s assertion that they covered up the incident by not filing a report is ridiculous.”

Now that one of the two border patrol agents has been beaten to a bloody pulp, the media and others are coming out and saying that it’s really not that big of a deal…

Tune in tomorrow to get the backstory. We will have a special guest at 7am.

Two of our guests today were Congressman Tom Tancredo of Colorado and Congressman Walter Jones of North Carolina. They are just a couple of the many “Pro-Ramos and Compean/Border Patrol” congressmen being snubbed by the White House.

Help them out… Help Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean out by calling these numbers, demanding their immediate pardon:

Loose Weight with Purina Dog Chow Diet

Posted by thebosun on November 8, 2006

I have a Golden retriever.  I was buying a large bag of Purina at Wal Mart  and was in line to check out.  A woman behind me asked if I had a dog.  On impulse, I told her that no, I was starting The Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn’t because I’d ended up in the hospital last time, but that I’d lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry & that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.

I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story, particularly a guy who was behind her. Horrified, she asked if I’d ended up in the hospital in that condition because I had been poisoned.

I told her no; it was because I’d been sitting in the street licking my butt and a car hit me.

I thought one guy was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard as he staggered out the door.

Author unknown, sent to me by email from a friend.

Should Gays be in involved in the Scouting Program?

Posted by thebosun on October 11, 2006

After the latest congressional scandal regarding Republican Congressman Mark Foley, a question comes to mind, “Should Gays be in leadership positions in the Boy Scouts of America?”

In the past six or seven years, there has been much “bashing” of the Boy Scouts of America by activists and civil liberties groups.  The Boy Scouts have been sued by individuals and have been banned from using public facilities because of their stand regarding alternative lifestyles being affiliated with the scouting program.  The Scouts have publicly stated that:

the organization has the right to pick its own leaders….and, that the Boy Scouts believe that all their scouts should be morally straight, as the Boy Scout laws refer to it, and clean. And that is contrary to, he said, having a homosexual serve as a troop leader. (Terence Smith)

On the other hand, civil liberties attorneys have argued whether a large organization like the Boy Scouts could be exempt from a state antidiscrimination laws, could discriminate against someone solely because of their identity….. and whether or not the Boy Scouts would have to comply with it and allow someone who didn’t advocate contrary views. (Attorney Greenburg)  Source:  NewsHour interview between TERENCE SMITH and JAN CRAWFORD GREENBURG, BOY SCOUT DEBATE April 26, 2000

It is interesting that everyone is mum about the scouting issues since Foley came into the limelight.

Here we have a major scandal rocking the Halls of Congress and the the democratic leadership calling for heads to roll for “covering up” an alternative lifestyle issue.  But, no one is addressing the Dems former position that it is wrong to deny alternative lifestyles access to children.

I am not speaking out for or against the alternative lifestyle issue.  Could it be justifies for organizations and parents to object to alternative lifestyles having routine access to children.  I am not sure how to identify risky persons from non risky persons.  I would like to hear from the readership regarding this issue.

If you would like to email your uncensored opinion to me, I will later publish the results on my weblogs.

Ann Coulter exposes Democrat duplicity on ‘gays’

In Ann Coulter’s latest column, that was posted at WorldNetDaily, the take-no-prisoners commentator points out stark differences in how Republicans and Democrats caught in sex scandals react. Coulter does a good job skewering the “Donkey party.”

DISCLAIMER: The different points of views Ann Coulter are not supported nor do they reflect the views and beliefs of the Bosun Locker or any entity affiliated with the Bosun Locker.

Writes Coulter: “The object lesson of Mark Foley’s inappropriate e-mails to male pages is that when a Republican congressman is caught in a sex scandal, he immediately resigns and crawls off into a hole in abject embarrassment. The Democrats get skewered.

“Coulter goes on to describe the action of former Democratic Rep. Gerry Studds after he was caught in a homosexual relationship with a 17-year-old.”We need to get a rulebook from the Democrats,” writes Coulter, which she then dutifully supplies.

How the heck does Studds get a standing ovation by his party is beyond me. Read Coulters latest exclusive column at WorldNetDaily.com:Who knew Mark Foley was a closeted Democrat?

8 Marines to Have Article 32 Hearing

Posted by thebosun on August 23, 2006

KFMB San Diego, channel 8 is reporting that the Marine Corps has denied four Marines accused of killing an Iraqi civilian in Hamdania, Iraq, the option of going straight to trial even though they apparently waved their article 32 hearing to go to trial. Defense lawyers claimed that perhaps this was a sign that prosecutors don’t have a solid case.

The generals and administrative weenies will keep the pressure on until those eight lads break, regardless of the truth.

According to Camp Pendleton spokesman Lt. Col. Sean Gibson the move was made “to make a fair and impartial decision on the disposition of these cases.” Lt Col, save it for the MSM, libs and anti-war groupies.

The seven Marines and one Navy corpsman allegedly went into Hamdania, and among other things took a man from his home, tied him up and shot him without provocation April 26. The men —- all accused of premeditated murder, kidnapping and related offenses —- were first detained in late April in Iraq. All were jailed in the Camp Pendleton brig on the same day in May, and all were charged on the same day in June. Soon, 12 men —- 11 Marines and one sailor —- were pulled from their units, kept on house arrest in Iraq, then returned to Camp Pendleton two weeks later.

Eight of the men were jailed and charged on June 21 with premeditated murder, a charge which carries the possibility of the death penalty if they are convicted. The other four men, including platoon commander 2nd Lt. Nathan Phan, were restricted to the local base —- but not jailed.

On of the defense attornies, Joseph Casas said he views the recent decision by the Marines to bringing charges in the assault case as a pressure tactic to get the men not accused in Awad’s death to tell what they know about the alleged slaying.

It sure as hell makes me wonder what is going on with this case.
